(The Gator Tour follows the USGA Rules of Golf. USGA Rules can be found at usga.org/rules)
Eligibility: All Professionals, Amateurs, College Golfers, Senior Professionals/Amateurs with a handicap of 7 or below. No Handicap Minimum for Amateur Division, tee off after the Pros.
Player Status: Prior to the start of the round, players are required to claim status as a Professional or Amateur.
Conduct: All Players must have knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf. All Players must comply with the USGA or players will be considered for disqualification. Courtesy toward other players is of utmost importance. All players must play at an efficient pace, and be as still and quiet as possible when their playing partners are executing their shot.
Entry Deadlines: Entry deadlines differ depending on maximum field size the golf course offers. Please try to register as early as possible to assist in our communication with the course.
Player Withdrawals: $50 WD fee will incur for withdrawals within 48 hours of the event before Tee Times have been released. The full entry of $250 for the Championship Field and $125 for Amateur Field is due as a WD Fee once tee times have been released online before the event. At this point the Golf Course and Tour have made their final agreement in declaring the Purses, number of players/blocked tee times at their course, paid deposits to the course, and signed official contracts. (excluding hospital note, qualifying for event on PGA Tour, Korn Ferry, LPGA, NCAA Golf, etc).
Not starting an event: In the case of weather or unforeseen circumstances that prevents us from teeing off, all players that either pre-paid a Tournament deposit or paid entry on-site will be refunded 100% of their entry fee written in a check including course costs. The Gator Tour will cover players on any credit/debit transaction fees for the full amount refunded. ($250 Championship/$120 Amateur)
Where to find Tee Times/Pairings: Tournament pairings, tee times, and more can be found when released on our website under the tab Pairings/Tee Times. Tee Times are usually released 24-48 hours before the event.
Amateur Awards: Amateurs never receive pro shop credit, they receive a VISA Card in the amount they earned! Amateurs are allowed to win up to $750 in gift cards in one tournament per USGA Rules. Amateurs may receive unlimited money from “optional competitions” like Skins, not the basic tournament, per USGA Rules. (Beginning January 1st Amateurs can make up to $1,000 cash every event per USGA Rules)
Dress Code: All golf attire is accepted. Shorts are allowed in all practice rounds and tournament rounds.
Entry Fees: If a player pays their entry fee by cash, check, or Venmo and withdrawals prior to the start of the round, all entry is refunded. If a player pays online or at the course, and withdrawals prior to the start of the first round, a 3% processing fee will incur.
Stipulated tournament round: Tournament rounds will always be 18 holes unless shortened by weather or delays. The tournament is considered complete if all players have played at least 9 holes. If every player doesn’t complete 9 holes, the tournament will be considered suspended during play. Due to contract with courses, players will receive a check for 100% of their entry fee back minus the course cost. (Most courses will include a rain check)
Ties to declare winner: Players will always have the option to evenly distribute Champion and runner-up money, and use the playoff to declare the official winner. Players also have the option of being co-champion if all tied players agree. There will be a sudden death hole by hole playoff to declare the winner. All ties for 1st place will be a part of the playoff. In case of not enough time or daylight to complete a playoff, the winner will be determined by a scorecard playoff starting with their back nine score, followed by their front nine score.
Caddies and Spectators: All Caddies and Spectators will be allowed at the courses discretion. Caddies are allowed the ride in the cart, walk, or push their players clubs in a push cart. Caddies and Spectators must do their best to also comply with tournament conduct.
Pace of Play: USGA Rule 6-7, pace of play rules are established and may be enforced with stroke penalties. Players will always be warned first. The Gator Tour committee encourages “Ready Golf” in which the player who is ready to execute their shot goes first.
Assumption of Risk: All players, caddies, staff, and spectators will assume all liability in their actions at practice and tournament rounds. Each person who is a part of the Gator Tour will be agree to fully compensate the host club, person, or party for any damage(s) incurred by them.
Media: All players, caddies, staff, and spectators agrees to release media coverage of themselves or record of that tournament day to be used on our website, social media, newspapers, television, and all forms of broadcasting.
Review and Feedback: The Gator Golf Tour asks that all players submit review and any further questions not regarding day of tournament operations in writing. Please do not direct any complaints to the course staff at any time.
Equipment: All players clubs and golf balls must meet the USGA Rules of Golf for equipment.
